The Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station has a convenient downtown location directly across from the Indiana Convention Center and a five-minute walk away from Lucas Oil Stadium. It’s not the hotel’s proximity to sports and entertainment that makes its location so special, though. The building that houses the hotel was once the country’s first Union Station.

The hotel’s former identity is still front and center today. The large atrium, where you’ll find the pool, fitness center and cozy gathering spots, was part of the original train shed and features exposed steel beams and statues that represent train passengers and personnel as they would have appeared when the building was a bustling Midwest railroad hub.

There are two on-site restaurants located off the hotel lobby. 123 West offers breakfast each morning, and Taggart’s offers a full-service bar and dinner service in the evening.

Guest rooms don’t shy away from color, with pops of red and black decor and colorful wall art. To truly experience this hotel as it once was, stay in one of the converted 1920s Pullman train car rooms.
